BLS classes are designed for the medical field
If you work in Dental, Medical, or as First Responder, more than likely you will need BLS training.
BLS is an advanced form of CPR and AED training
BLS training always includes Adult, Child, and Infant care. It always teaches CPR, AED, and Responding to choking emergencies. The courses can range from 3 to 4 1/2 hours for new students depending on the curriculum being taught.
Difference between CPR and BLS
BLS is also know as CPR for Healthcare. As BLS is an advanced form of CPR, it will teach the main differences in how a medical professional responds to a life-threatening emergency. Primary differences include but are not limited to checking for a pulse, differences in responding to children and infants, and secondary cardiac arrest.
BLS does not include First Aid Training
BLS focuses on the lifesaving skills needed to save a life in the hospital or prehospital setting from medical/dental offices to hospital and cardiac care units to ambulance and EMT/Paramedics.
