Wilderness First Aid

Saves Lives When Help Is Far Away

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts that participate in hiking, biking, and other activities that can easily take you away from phone service or medical care. It is also invaluable when disasters delay emergency medical services (EMS) response.

Enhances What You Already Know

WFA enhances your existing knowledge by teaching you what small, lightweight items you can add to your pack and how to use other resources available to create what you need to handle an emergency.

Along with advanced methods of bleeding control, you will learn how to

  • Set and splint broken bones
  • Reset dislocated joints
  • Treat environmental emergencies
  • Handle snake, spider, and other bites
  • And much more

First Aid Or WFA? Which Is Right For Me?

First Aid focuses on temporary care of emergency situations, with short medical response times, minor wound care, and severe bleeding. WFA focuses on the long-term care of injuries and illnesses (typically 45 minutes or more) until advanced medical care is available.

WFA Does Not Cover CPR

This class teaches techniques that you will use only in care of an injured patient with delayed medical response time. Therefore, a CPR/First Aid/AED class is also recommended.
